Maryland Cremation Services is headquartered in Baltimore City. The crematory is located just outside the I-695 and I-70. In most cases though, we meet families at the loved one’s place of death or in the family’s homes.
What area does Maryland Cremation Services serve? (top)

What does “Identification” mean? (top)
The identification process has been established as a safeguard by the Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors to prevent any mistaken identity of the deceased. Cremation is an “absolute and irreversible final disposition.” All possible measures are taken to assure the proper identity of the deceased.
The process of identification is usually performed at the place of death by the person holding the primary right of disposition (usually the closest adult relative.) During the process, an identification tag is securely attached to the deceased to assure the identity of the deceased.
How long does it take to complete a cremation? (top)
On average, the cremation process takes a day to complete. As is occasionally the case, some cremations might require more time—depending on the crematory’s schedule and other external factors beyond our control. For further details, please talk to the funeral director in charge of arrangements.
How can I place an obituary notice? (top)
During the arrangement process, our licensed funeral director will ask if you would like to place a death notice in a local newspaper. You will be advised to visit our obituary submission page to provide obituary for publishing. We will gladly place the notice for you. please click here to be redirected to our obituary web page.
Please keep in mind, some small local newspapers or periodicals will provide this service free of charge. However, all commonly recognized publishers will require payment depending on number of words you would like to have published. Please, ask our licensed Funeral Director for details.
How many death certificates will I need? (top)
The number of certified copies of the death certificate depends on your personal needs. Some people require 25 copies or more. Some families only need only one for personal records. Please keep in mind that an official copy of the death certificate is needed for all business transactions that involve the deceased. This includes bank accounts, insurance policies, stocks, bonds and court documents.
How much do I have to pay for certified death certificates? (top)
The current price set by the Maryland Department of Vital Records is $12.00 per certified death certificate. As our courtesy, we will not charge you extra for obtaining additional certified death certificates. We only require up front the state’s cost of $12.00 per copy.
What if I order death certificates just to find out that I need more later on? (top)
That is not a problem. As our courtesy, we will obtain any number of additional death certificates at no additional charge to you. We only require up front the state’s cost of $12.00 per copy and $6.00 for certified mail.
Is Maryland Cremation Services fully licensed with the state of Maryland? (top)
Yes. Maryland Cremation Services is fully licensed by the Maryland Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors, the state government agency that regulates all of the death care industry in Maryland.

By Maryland state law, all valid funeral establishments must be owned and operated by a licensed funeral director IN ADDITTION to being licensed through the Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors.
You have the right to see two Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors licenses:
1. Funeral Director’s License
2. Funeral Establishment License.
A non-licensed business selling cremations or funerals do not meet the same regulations and standards of professional conduct as a licensed funeral director.

Can I have a public viewing before cremation? (top)
Yes. Maryland Cremation Services has a long standing relation with one of the locally owned funeral home and can provide viewing services (with embalming) at a highly discounted price. Please call us for details.
